May the child grow in health and happiness, bringing joy and pride to her family and friends.

Congratulations to you and your "new" larger family :)  May you all be blessed with good health and happiness.
  • Thanks guys!
@PappyJoe thanks for the tips. Those are the reasons I haven't had a bowl thus far. Taking care of the two of them takes all my time. But the in laws are coming over tonight and while they have her I may sneak away for a small bowl... Thinking some Bourbon Barrel aged Plum Pudding may be in order!
  • @Michael308 WOW!
Big congratulations my friend!! Beautiful baby and family. you are truly blessed.
  • @Michael308 A W E S O M E !!!!

Best wishes to you, your wife and Addilyn.

  • Congrats @Michael308 ! I saw the news on facebook, and couldn't be happier for you and your family.
  • Congrats! Y'all are a cute family.

PappyJoe has real good advise. Let me add something else. Ask your wife, "I would really enjoy smoking a pipe in the next day or two. When would be the most convenient time for me to do this?"

  • We had three of the critters ourselves. Now our youngest has two of his own.
I've read that Chicken Pox is never fatal unless you somehow manage to catch it before you're five days old. Good enough reason to keep the snot-dripping yahoos away from les enfant.
  • @Michael308  Well done young man.  May your days be peaceful and your nights quite.
  • @Michael308 I'll pass along a bit of advice a pastor gave me when I had my first kid. He said "your never going to do your best as a parent. Parenting is a challenge. It's rewards are amazing, but it's a challenge and no matter how hard you try, it will never be your best. Your going to be tired, cranky, you will make bad decisions, you will yell, you will swear. Parenting is an excersixze of  your worst.  All  you can do as a father is be your best worst. " Each day is a challenge. Each day is a reward as a dad. Do your best and enjoy the ride. It goes by fast. This may sound silly but it takes some of the stress off. And my advice is wait till everyone is asleep and sneak in a good pipe or two. Congrats man.
  • Best advice: just be there for your child.
  • @Michael308

As I said before, you and your wife are BLESSED beyond belief. Childbirth and the honor and responsibility of raising children is truly a miracle from God.

  • @Michael308 From one who is nearly 21 years removed from our "last one" (my now 20 year old son Derek), you have so much joy coming your way!  What a beautiful baby and family!  Joy, happiness and good health to all!
  • Congratulations, @Michael308!!! I'm kinda late to the party (just now catching up on past posts). Girls are an amazing precious gift (I have 3). Enjoy every day with her, brother!!
